RACES
In Thassos, we organize one of the biggest cycling event in the Balkans, the THASSOS CYCLING WEEKEND. It takes place every last weekend on April the last 10 years with more than 400 participants from many different countries!
The oldest race is the MTB-THASSOS CUP, a 58 km MTBexperience with +1800,15km of singletracks in the mountains of Trikorfon (825m) in the area of Theologos.
The last years, a unique ultra race for the Greek standards has taken place in the island of Thassos. The great ULTRA THASSOS MTB CHALLENGE 120 (UTMC 120).This is one day, point to point race of 120km(+3800m).An MTB day adventure in the highest peaks of the island!A journey to discover your own limits!
For the Road bike cyclists, we have one of the most famous race in Greece, the TOUR OF THASSOS with 200 participants every year.The race completes a 93km (+1500m) tour around the island passing through traditional villages, olive trees and beautiful beaches.
Every September a new Trail Running Race is taking place in the village of Theologos. The YPSARION TRAIL RACE. A technical trail running race with lots of positive altitude (1800m) in 28km.The race climb from Theologos to Ypsarion Peak (1204m), going downhill to Potamia village and climb back to Theologos from the 2km old stony path of "Kangelia".The start and the finish line is on the traditional village of Theologos.
