Our story began with the establishment of Velo Studios, offering quality accommodation to travelers. But our passion for cycling soon took center stage.
A New Adventure Begins
We introduced Thasos's first-ever bike rental and tour service, giving visitors the chance to explore the island’s stunning landscapes on two wheels. Since then, we’ve grown to become the island’s leading provider of outdoor adventure experiences.

Our rental fleet includes everything from high-performance mountain bikes to cutting-edge e-bikes, offering even more ways to discover the beauty of Ypsarion Mountain and Thasos’s hidden natural wonders.
Our journey is fueled by the vision and passion of our owner, Yannis Reizis — a certified MIAS instructor, MTB athlete, ultra-runner, and adventure racer. Yannis’s commitment to adventure sports led to the creation of the iconic MTB Thasos Cup in 2005, now one of the biggest MTB races in Greece.
Two years later, we launched the Tour of Thasos, a thrilling road bike race that draws cyclists from all around Europe.

We expanded further by opening Thasos’s first dedicated bike shop, offering top brands like Cube, Shimano, Giant, and Ideal, along with a wide range of accessories and parts for cycling enthusiasts.

We took our love for outdoor exploration to the next level by launching Velo Tours, a tourist agency specializing in outdoor activities like cycling and trekking around Thasos.

MTB cyclist, Marathon and Ultra Runner Owner of Velo Studios and Velo Bike Rental in Potos Thassos, Greece
Giannis Reizis was born in Zurich, Switzerland in 1971. He returned to Greece in 1982 to take the Greek education. In 1989 he managed to enter the school of Management and Economy of T.E.I of Larisa. After his graduation, he obtained the management of the room rental business which his parents had at Potos of Thassos.
In 2000 he started involving into the athletics while specialising in the cycling sports. He started to participate in many mountain bike races since 2004 in all over Greece. Furthermore, he started to deal with mountain running and he participated in many races as well. In 2004, he started, along with Nikos Kitrinos, the organization of the mountain bike races, MTB-THASSOS CUP, races which developed into one of the most athletic events in northern Greece.
During the summer season, he lives and works in Thassos where he maintains the room rental business along with a mountain bike rental business.
My dream was to provide modern, professional and safe mountain bikes to people that desire to go on holiday and have an adventure! The spirit is to keep your mind and body in action. Thassos is the right place for that!

Thasos offers endless opportunities for all kinds of excursions, ensuring that you will never run out of things to see and do during your stay here. Thasos truly has something for all kinds of visitors, and it can be incredibly exciting for our cyclist friends.
It is a pole of attraction for thousands of tourists every year, especially during summer, but it is also a perfect place for holidays during autumn and spring as well. It is very close to the main Greek land, thus the expenses to get here are very low, compared to the other Greek islands.
Thasos has beautiful beaches, which have crystal blue waters, all around the island. It also has amazing deep green nature areas full of plane and pine trees in its inner part. Thus, it is a perfect place for holidays because it combines perfectly the sea and mountains.
What you made find important is that Thasos hosts two big cycling events.

Potos is the most well-known tourist resort on Thasos on the south side of the island. It is an old fishermen’s settlement and serves as the port of the mountainous village of Theologos. In summer, this village is transformed into a town and turns into a village in winter, which might be of interest to anyone visiting off-season.
It owes its growth to tourism, which is the main occupation of its residents. Very well run hotels, tavernas, restaurants, bars, markets, luna parks and shops compose the profile of Potos. People of all ages and nationalities enjoy the breezy summer nights, swaying to the rhythm of the music.
